Is there a special tool to release the fuel filter on my 2001 Ford Escape?

It has an in-line filter and appears to have quick release hoses on either side. Has anybody ever used this tool and will the fuel pour out of the line when I disconnect it?
How much do you suppose one of these special tools cost?
You can use a pair of pliers to release the fittings. You can also rent a tool from AutoZone.

If you don't want people to notice you this truck is not for you. I get more honks and thumbs up than most vehicles on the road. You are bidding on a 1999 Ford Lariat F-350 4x4 7.3 Liter Powerstroke (still the most sought after diesel engine in the industry) Crew Cab long box. Currently has 174,254 miles on it but until it sells I will be driving it around town so actual mileage at the time of sale may be slightly more. Upgrades include a full spring replacement 6.5" pro-comp lift kit Bushwacker cutout style fender flares (notice the damage to the front flares which I can fix upon request). I have installed a 4" exhaust with a 6" stainless tip that gives the truck a very cool sound! Also an AFE stage 2 Intake and Edge adjustable programmer have been installed. This baby rolls on 42" Firestone 385/65R 22.5 Radials, that's right dumpstuck steer tires all the way around. Put's the truck at an overall height of about 7' 6". Truck runs and drives great and has the power and speed to do whatever you ask it to. The truck cruises down the interstate great too. The custom tool box lights are wired right into a trailer receptacle for easy removal of the box if need be. The body and paint are in overall good condition. The truck is used and has it's flaws the two main visible areas I have photographed and you can see them on the tailgate and the rear drivers side. 4x4 works great, it has been switched to manual locking hub. The leather is warn but overall the interior is nice and clean, non-smoking vehicle. It is pre-wired for Sirius satellite radio and a CB. All wires are ran the right way so you can't see them, there is also custom green neon floor lights in the cab front and back that are switched so they can be shut off. Not installed but comes with the truck are 3 Autometer gauges: Boost, trans temp, and oil temp. The over head console compass and MPG does not work and the speedometer runs about 30% off due to the size of the tires. New batteries, new fuel filter, Fresh Oil change this baby is ready to roll. You will not go unnoticed in this truck, It has been to Panama City for Spring break and there was nothing like it!! This truck truly stands above the rest. Good Luck Bidding!
