I have a Honda CRF250R and a Yamaha 700 Raptor. After each ride (or so) i degrease the air filter, wash it out, hang it out to dry and re-oil it, it is so time consuming and annoying!
So I deceided to go on a quest for the perfect airfilter.
Change to a paper filter with a dry foam cover.

So the it probably doesn't come as any surprise that not long after I got the CB500 dialed in I traded it away -- this was about 3 months ago. In exchange, I ended up with a 1978 Yamaha XS650 w/ 9k original miles. It has become everything a true cafe racer should be -- loud, fast, light weight, matte black and mean. It can smoke most modern bikes -- after-all this model was a champion flat track racer back in the proverbial day. '78 was the last year of the pre-emissions laws high-performance fully adjustable 38mm Mikuni carbs She is stripped down to just over 400 lbs, 55+ HP, and nice low center of gravity for easy cornering. She makes her power in the low revs, so it is a lot of fun in town racing from stoplights and whatnot.
