i recently changed my car battery and it was drained overnight. i have already checked the fuses and they were all okay, and was wondering if the alternator is the one that is causing the problem. how much does it cost to replace the alternator in my
a bad alternator will not cause your battery to drained overnight. if your battery is new and dead the very next morning, could be that you have a parasitic draw. meaning there is something that is staying on, like a bulb, that should not be. a charging

Will they care if one customer decides to buy another make of car or switches to another shop for service? I don’t think they will miss me. At this point, the service manager has not responded to my last email & I don’t expect he ever will. I told him that I would take my grievances to the Better Business Bureau, Angie’s List & Ford Motors. Upon further review, I thought I would bring my story to your attention too.
If “quality is job one” perhaps we are talking about inferior quality parts and service. Expect icy indifference when they screw up. Don’t count on them admitting mistakes. It is never their fault. Maybe they consider it a sign of weakness to apologize. They used to have a follow-up survey via phone or email after service. I haven’t gotten a follow up survey since my first complaint.
Braeger Ford’s installs defective alternator
They replaced the alternator. It cost a pretty penny. I will have to look up the cost.
Within a day the car broke down (again) on a freeway more than 30 miles from home. The car rested on the narrow shoulder just off the highway waiting for the tow truck. The experience was somewhat unnerving. We had the car towed back to the dealer. I filled out the drop off paperwork and left the keys in the drop slot. Braeger replaced the brand new defective alternator the next day.
Guess what. When the service rep called, she announced that they would replace the part for free. That’s right friends, there would be no additional charge for parts or labor. There was no apology & no hint of being sorry for the inconvenience or the cost of the tow. I could pick up the car any time.
They install a defective part, we spend time broken down on the highway in a precarious situation, I have to get a tow, my car is in the shop again. . . . and they couldn’t even muster an insincere “We’re sorry.”
